4:39am 11-07-06The Temptation
The Command was not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Our disobedience was that we wanted to think for ourselves,
To make our ‘own’ decisions.
The tempter came to face Our Lord with the same temptation.
“…turn these stones into bread…”
He was hungry
His God knew that He was hungry
He had the power to do so if He chose
But, He did not have ‘Permission’
The Command was NOT to eat of that tree
The Command was to seek His Kingdom …
And all ‘things’ would be provided
He is the Almighty
He is the Creator of All
He is the Only Provision
The Temptation was the same for Our Lord, yet He did not yield.
The Cost was too high.
To be able to make His Own decisions…
To think for Himself
To determine for Himself what would be wrong or right for ‘His’ Life
The requirement was that He bow to His Father’s Enemy…
To be eternally separated from His Father
There was no choice

The Temptations of Christ
Our Example to Follow......................
1
Temptation:
If You are the Son of God, 'command' that these stones be turned into bread.
Answer:
"It is written,...that man should live by every Word that proceeds from the Mouth of God"
Yeshua never made a command that wasn't the Word of His Father.
2
Temptation:
Throw yourself off, the angels will protect You.
Answer:
"...Thou shalt not tempt The Lord Thy God."
Yeshua never put Himself in danger expecting His Father to protect Him from the decision that He had made. He made no decisions on His own outside of The Word of His Lord.
3
Temptation:
Bow to me and I will give You the kingdoms of this world.
Answer:
"...I bow only to My God, (and you are not my god)."
Yeshua never bowed to any other god other than The Almighty God, His Creator.
"Away with you!"
